I would use NTFS. Much more stable. The problem is, If you have any other harddrives in your computer that are formatted using FAT32, you wont be able to see them. But it will see a networked FAT32 drive.
Defraggin an NTFS partition takes like 3 minutes. It must defrag on the fly so to speak, cause ...

In the last 12 months, I have only paid for 2 months of internet service. If my ISP was not having extreme packet loss problems, they were out of IPs to assign, or the signal to my house was too weak to keep the connection alive longer than 5 minutes. It was always something. I once called into Tech ...

I came to the forum today to find out if I can find a program to run in the background while I'm online gaming. I have the exact same problem. CS or TFC games and I have a ping of 40-50 then it spikes to 400 then it goes back down. All this over and over again. It takes me 10 tries to get thru one ...

I have that problem sometimes. Usually I can reset the cable modem, then reboot computer, and I will get an IP. Other times, there is a problem on the ISP end, so I just have to wait for them to fix it. I also have a weak RX signal at the modem. The cable company told me that they would replace ALL ...

When you guys up your FSB, how do you keep the AGP bus down around 66. I know how to keep the PCI bus down. The AGP bus runs 2/3 of the FSB. If you OC to 133, the AGP bus is now at 88, too high for alot of Vid Cards. Mine wont work with a FSB of 133. I do have a seperate line in BIOS to up the FSB ...

WIN98se using over 128mb RAM
I was just reading another post and someone said Win98SE will use more than 128 megs of ram. That is the opposite of everything I have read and heard. I was under the impression that W98 would not utilize memory over 128mb. Some applications will under the W98 OS. Like the better photo editing ...

RAID is cool. But the downside is, you have to have two identical hard drives. Or 4 drives if you wanna do RAID 1,0. Getting 2 ATA 100 hard drives can get expensive. But I am happy with the performance. You can set up RAID with 2 ata 33 or 66 drives, but if you can, get some 100s.

You need 2 NICs in each machine. Bind one NIC to the TCP/IP protocol.(For Internet access) BInd the other NIC to the NetBuei protocol.(For use on the LAN) I had the same problem with my lan.(Before I setup the Linux server.) Once I got the protocols straight, everything worked much better. Using TCP ...

ATI video cards have trouble with the VIA chipset. VIA chipsets come with virtually all AMD based mobos. You may need a different video card. I know I cannot get mmore that 100 fps in HL based games. What is the command to up the max fps in Q3A? Is it "fps_max 200" ? I just wanted to know. I'm only getting 100 now, but I know I can get more.

RWIN still show to be 65535 on this analyzer even after the patch. I've checked the date on the file in C:\windows\system\Vtcp.386. Its August '99. Which seems to be correct date of latest file.
