How to access signal levels and logs of my cable modem ?

Although settings are not user-editable, most cable modems have built-in diagnostics and status pages accessible by the end user that provide useful information, such as signal levels, SNR (signal-to-noise ratio), logs of events, firmware version, etc.

To access your cable modem status/diagnostics pages, open your web browser and navigate to one of the following pages:

Arris, Motorola, Scientific Atlanta, RCA, Terayon: http://192.168.100.1

SMC: http://10.1.10.1 (username: cusadmin pass: highspeed)

3Com: http://3comcablemodem.com or http://49.112.50.65 (username: User pass: Password)

Notes:
We have an extensive database of 2600+ cable modems and routers with their respective IPs and default passwords available here: Broadband Hardware Database

If the above IPs do not work, you can try setting your client to a static IP in the 192.168.100.x range (255.255.255.0 subnet mask), then try again.

If a username/password is required, you may want to try admin/motorola, admin/w2402. admin/password, root/root
