15. The Optimizer does not list my network adapter in the pull-down menu ?

If you are using an USB, or some unconventional Network Adapter in your system, it is possible for the Optimizer to be unable to recognize it. When that happens, you can use the "Modify all Network Adapters" checkmark under the "Network Adapter selection" pull-down menu in the Optimizer program. This applies the changes to all network adapters.

Alternatively, you can choose not to modify any network adapters: Windows does not have per adapter MTU settings by default, and tweaks will still be applied globally.

You can try our Analyzer online tool to ensure changes have been applied to your particular Network Adapter. Also, feel free to notify us with your exact brand/model adapter the Optimizer has difficulty detecting.

Hi All,

The optimizer does not list ANYTHING in the drop down menu. Is that normal?
by Philip - 2007-06-12 09:03
The current version does not recognize some USB, and non-standard network adapters. If this is the case, you can just check "modify all network adapters" and not worry about it, the rest of the settings still apply.

Hello!
I don't want to change anything on all the adapters but I still need to discover the best MTU size in the network. But SG TCP can't see my adapter, it's not in the list.

Rgds,
Idriss

In the Network Adapter Selection pulldown it shows wrong adapter with wrong corresponding IP Address. Worse yet, it doesn't show an option for what my current one should be. Can someone tell me how to fix this.

why I can't apply the 'Modify All Network Adapters'? It doesn't save the setting, it is always returning to normal....

Hello,
I have Airtel 3G USB Modem with promised speed of 7.2 Mbps. But obviously this is not exactly what we get. This TCP optimiser came along with the data connection by the service provider. I followed the instructions on FAQ 6, but i dont see any difference. I do not know of any technical details that you may want to know about my modem to help me out in this regard. Please let me know if there are other methods that can be used to boost my internet speed. I am afraid to use the custom settings as i am not aware of these technical points. Please help

Download the program on your computer, then run it as administrator (right-click, choose "run as administrator" from the pull-down menu).

In the Network Adapter Selection pulldown it shows an old adpter,
that is switched of.
My current one is not listed.
My adapter is a Intel Gigagit CT Desktop Adapter. OS Windows 7 (64).
How can an old one be regonized?
by Philip - 2014-03-30 15:07
The old one is still in the Windows Registry, that's why it may be recognized by the TCP Optimizer

Want help here, I use mts mblaze and i tried this optimizer but it does not show my modem in the list and when I check up Modify all network adapters it becomes uncheck after restarting my computer, so pls tell me what can I do.

Please note that if you RENAME your adapters, it will not work. I renamed my adapter to "Wi-Fi", but TCP Optimiser lists it as "ASUS USB-AC56 802.11ac Wireless USB Adapter. As a result, the log shows that the adapter "Wi-Fi" can not be found.

hi, i can't change the network adapter selection, it will reset itself after i close the app, it will reset as realtek PCle.
i use my phone as tethering for my laptop.
by Philip - 2024-02-10 11:19
It is normal for the program to just display a list of Network Adapters on startup, it does not need to "select" any single one of them. The adapter selection is just there so that you can tweak some of the more advanced network adapter specific settings.
