The NWA-3550 is an outdoor access point, delivered in durable waterproof, dust-sealed and UV-resistant casing. It works in AP controller mode, managed AP mode and stand-alone AP mode, and has Power over Ethernet (PoE) support that allows administrators to install the device in areas where power outlets are not available. This access point offers WEP, WPA/WPA2 and 802.1x wireless encryption.
The AP also has what ZyXEL calls "load balancing" which actually lets you specify a hard limit on the number of wireless clients, or bounce new wireless connections when certain bandwidth limit is reached to avoid congestion.
