Netgear CGD24N

details: DOCSIS 2.0 802.11n Wireless Cable Gateway
hardware type: Cable Gateway
date added: 2010-01-24
updated: 2015-09-20
The CGD24N Wireless Cable Gateway combines a cable modem, an integrated 4-port router, and 802.11n wireless access point. The gateway is DOCSIS 2.0 compliant.

The integrated access point complies with 802.11n (draft 2.0) standard and supports WEP and WPA/WPA2 wireless encryption. It uses WMM (QoS) to prioritize the traffic over the network. It also uses Wi-Fi Multimedia Power Save (WMM-PS, a.k.a., Unscheduled Automatic Power Save Delivery (u-APSD)) to save up to 40% of the battery life of WMM-PS devices connected to the AP. A WPS button allows for worry-free wireless security configuration.

The router provides VPN pass-through for IPSec and PPTP. A built-in SPI firewall protects the network against intruders and Denial of Service (DoS) attacks.

I've had nothing but problems with this device. It has a small NAT table which fills up quickly and then new connections don't get through.

Afaik they're only available through Telstra Bigpond.

I was pleased to receive this free with a broadband package, but I have just started trying to exercise some control over users - eg preventing large downloads during prime time. But I can find no controls to do this.
Product spec says clearly "WMM (QoS)" is there, but I cannot see any settings for it.
Does this really have such controls, or is this some preconfigured thing you can't change?
Older modems I've had included comprehensive support for configuring QoS, so I'm wondering if I have a lemon here.
Having said that, it seems reliable otherwise.
