Two years after the wildly popular subscription service MoviePass crashed and burned, its co-founder Stacy Spikes is determined to bring it back. Spikes says MoviePass will return this summer.

MoviePass' new subscription service won't offer unlimited movies anymore, but will instead introduce a tiered subscription system, Spikes said. Similarly to fitness startup Classpass, MoviePass customers will buy credits that they can then redeem for movie showings.

The new MoviePass app will show you how many credits you have and available screenings at theaters. Credits will work differently during peak and off-peak times - a Friday or Saturday showing might cost more credits. You'll be able to reserve specific seats at some of MoviePass' partner theaters.

According to Spikes, MoviePass plans to enter partnerships with Alamo Drafthouse and Angelika Cinemas. However, larger theater chains like AMC and Regal were not included in the slideshow. AMC already has its own movie subscription package, which was created in response to MoviePass' popularity.
