Google Chrome is getting a new Privacy Guide

2022-04-08 16:45 by

Google has added a new privacy tool aimed at Chrome users called the Privacy Guide. According to Google, the guide is "a step-by-step guided tour of some existing privacy and security controls in Chrome" that lets Chrome users adjust all their important settings from a centralized location.

Although the Privacy Guide does not add any new privacy options, it serves as a step-by-step guide that will enable users to implement the settings that are most appropriate. As well as providing guidance through what can be a confusing sea of settings, the new addition also offers up explanations about different options.

The new Privacy Guide created by Google will start being released to Chrome browser versions 100 or above in the coming weeks.

To access the new guide, navigate to the three-dot menu in the top right corner, then hit Settings > Privacy and Security and click the Privacy Guide to get started. According to Google, you don't have to complete the tour all at once - you can exit and pick up right where you left off when you return. The guide will also save any changes you make, so you don't have to readjust them when you return to finish the guide.
