Cricket Wireless offers unlimited plan for $65 a month

In an attempt to compete with T-Mobile's Simple Choice unlimited plan, AT&T prepaid subsidiary Cricket Wireless has started offering unlimited talk, text and data for just $70 a month. Those who opt for the company's auto pay service will get a $5 discount, making the unlimited plan $65 per month.

That's the all-in price, including taxes and fees. In comparison, T-Mobile's offer includes unlimited talk, text and data for $95 per month.

Like T-Mobile, Cricket will offer its unlimited service without an annual contract. Cricket's download speeds on LTE are throttled to 8Mbps, and on 4G it's throttled to 4Mpbs.

Cricket Wireless recently expanded its retail footprint in a big way with new distribution deals through Best Buy and the lease-to-own retail chain Aaron's. It is now available in more than 12,000 outlets across the country.
