ChatGPT will now remember things about you2024-02-14 16:57 by DanielaTags: ChatGPT
OpenAI just announced it's testing new memory features for ChatGPT, allowing the artificial intelligence tool to remember information from your conversations to prevent repetition and enhance future discussions. The feature will be available for both free and paid users, and they can edit the information they want saved, deleted, or turn off the feature entirely. It can be as easy as asking ChatGPT to remember or forget something, and it will follow through. If you don't feel like asking the AI chatbot this, go to your Settings, Personalization, and Manage Memory. Exactly what an AI "memory" consists of is not yet clear - and may never be - but an OpenAI video shows a fictional user managing memories in their user settings, and the bulleted list of memories is revealing. Memories outwardly appear to be pithy little snippets of text about preferences and biographical information, similar to what a movie cop would write down in a notebook while interviewing a witness. "Daughter, Lina, loves jellyfish," reads one. "Prefers assistance with writing and blog posts to be more concise, straightforward, and less emotive," says another. OpenAI says that memories may help ChatGPT Enterprise and Team subscribers work together better since shared team memories could remember specific document formatting preferences or which programming frameworks your team uses. And OpenAI plans to bring memories to GPTs soon, with each GPT having its own siloed memory capabilities. Read more -here-
