I am trying to get the QoS to work, but have not really had any luck.

I am using a beta version of the firmware that I got from Linksys that is supposed to have fixed the QoS issues the previous versions had.

I want to set file sharing to low & browsing to high.

Anyone get it to work the way it ...

Streaming Music From Notebook To Stereo

Seeing how I have ruined my notebook's speakers by listening to music too loud on it I would like to stream the music from my notebook to my home stereo.

Linksys produces the WMA11B that allows you to do this, but from reviews I have read it is either good or a piece of junk.

Is anyone out there ...

Is it selected as your default printer?

I have my networked printer selected as my default and it works just fine.

Regarding the printer, did you use the "Add Printer" feature in "Printers and Faxes" in the control panel and install it on the notebook as a networked printer?

If you did, did you also select it as your default printer so that it will automatically chose that printer when you go to print something?

Changing DNS Server

I know if I go into my Network Connection Properties I can manually enter what DNS server I want to use for that individual computer.

If I want to change it for any/all computers on the network without doing them all individually I can just do it at the router.

Daily Power Cycling Of Cable Modem

I was at Lowes the other day and they had some GE digital lamp timers on being blown out at just under $4.

I plugged my cable modem into it and set it up to shut the modem off every day at 5:30 AM and turn it back on at 5:31 AM.

Cheap, easy, trouble free "tweak".

Does anyone have any experience with them?

The sell a variety of high gain antennas/wireless items.

I am particulary interested in their high gain wireless card:

The drive spins 24 hours, 7 days a week.

I believe that with some drives you can install a jumper that will make them only spin when accessed, but WD does not list this configuration for this particular drive.
