I was at Lowes the other day and they had some GE digital lamp timers on being blown out at just under $4.
I plugged my cable modem into it and set it up to shut the modem off every day at 5:30 AM and turn it back on at 5:31 AM.
Cheap, easy, trouble free "tweak".

RE : 'Daily Power Cycling Of Cable Modem'
there are several 'magick acts'
concerning on the Internet connection's improvement.
For the most of them
one can found also apropriate 'urban myths'.
But they still remainning only tales and nothing more.
OTOH if you like it - why not ?
'customer's morning refreshment' (revival)
but IMO not equal to 'one minute runinng'
Yeah it might be somewhat overkill, but it is not like I have to manually do it. I just set it and forget it. You can get ones that you can set do it once a week or maybe even longer I am sure but this was cheap as hell so I got this one.Cypher_138 wrote:I'd have to say doing it that often is over kill. If you see a difference from it than stick with what works. I cycle every week or two at most.
I do alot of file sharing and that can slow things down after a while.
RE : maintenance free access devices
means also several advantages for access devices e.g. :
maintenance free,
warm upgrade,
maximal cut down both :
quantity and the time for connection reboot (none disconnection)
OTOH were explained methods of
once a day (week, etc ) 'smart cold reset'
