try with tweaks, and make sure u have all required information entered in the networking section. Maybe ur not making a connection to ur dhcp server because u missed something in the confusing win2k network section layout :)

thats probably because windows xp is based on the Windows 200 kernel. SO windows xp is pretty much windows 2000 with skins :P Have u tryed tweaks? if so you could have over tweaked causing u to timeout.

when i try to goto a website or connect to irc or ping in command line, i get abotu a 10 sec delay. in IE it says "finding site:" in irc it just does nothing, and in command it does nothing. then after its litte delay the web site loads, irc connects, and in command line the pings to the site of my ...

bahhh i disagree :P of course usb uses moree cpu power than the nic but hardley enuf to notice anything. I have reached a solid 653k/s from microsoft.com with my usb as well as the nic ...didnt notice a performance diff at all. Also, im assuming ppl with 8mbps connections wouldnt have usb adapter in ...

umm usb is 12mbits. usb network adapters dont eats up cpu cycles hense the externalness of the external usb adapter :) . And speed is equal for broadband purposes. However do go witht he nic if possible

lately adelphia powerlink has been timign out.. 10-15 sec is all
i dont lose sync but the timeouts are just enouh to kill an online game or kill a download... what could be wrong?
