I'm getting really disgusted with Adelphia in Scranton, PA. Several months ago, they upgraded their system (added more T3 lines?) and their service had improved tremendously! I was getting as high as 1200 kbps during off-peal hours and 700+ during peak hours.
Just in the last 3 weeks, I'm lucky if I can get 100 kbps during peak hours and 550 during offpeak. Naturally, I called my local office (since Adelphia's main office is of absolutely NO help) to complain. They had me do a TEST.FILE download from their Omega.Buf.Adelphia.Net ftp site. I got *less* than 80 kbps (they only "guarantee" 80 kbps). Then they told me they were having problems with their lines in Atlanta (which are supposedly leased from Sprint?) and that everyone is being affected.
Does anyone know if this is true? And if so, should I bother to wait until this is fiexed, or should I move on to DSL (which is more expensive here, but much more stable)?
I have them too, I'm near wilkes barre...Out of curiosity, how fast can you upload? My friend ups at like 20-30k, and I'b capped at 15. Those *******s also haven't sent me my free intel webcam that I was peomised when I signed up last november. Yeah i got ****ty bandwidth on that test too, they told me to call whoever and have them come out for a service call..I didn't do that yet tho. Like it's my responsibility.
