Surfboard uncapped!!!!

My buddy a month ago his house get's struck by lightning, blows out every Tv, computer, electrical device in his house, goes offline for 3 weeks gets a new Dell 1.7ghz comp, sets up his cable modem...which was not changed....had a new box on his house installed which splits the Tv, Phone and internet, thats it, now his uploads are uncapped.i mean over 1200kbps up's!!!!
pisses me the hell off as i send alot of big movie files he only sends lil mp3 files on mIRC, how did this all happen?...been up for 3 weeks and still his up's are awesome.cant figure this one out.............is his modem maybe so luckily fried but work?...any ideas to this uncapped nitemare would be appreciated.....i'd give him 500 bucks for that modem if i knew it was that............we both use the same cox@home i also have @work near him..still same capped up's

During the provisioning process the modems caps werent placed correctly. It will be found and taken care of, dont worry.

that happened to me once on powerlink, i was uploading at 150 -180 k
they did however put the caps in place within 4-5 hours
2.53 ghz p4 512mb ram. :) Windows XP Pro

Were talkin we have had capped modems for a yr..this is no fluke or a "5 day thing.....been for weeks

Well like wee96 said cable providers don't like having that much speed on UL so they'll find it sonner or later. But all I can say for now is to go over to your friends... And enjoy hosting those game servers with no lag... While you can. Peace:2cool:

Yes, I will do so by rubbing my feet on this fancy carpet of mine and touching my modem :) Then I will install a patch for my modem that lets my download hamburgers and tacos.....cus I like tacos and hamburgers.....oh and those fortune cookies from chinese restaurants too :p

a friend of a friend of a friend had a big ol keg party and this real drunk frat daddy peed on my friend of a friend of a friends' modem and we were all dying laughing and then we went to get some more MP3s downloaded before the modem totally blew up (we thought) but man when we were d/ling the files we noticed people were uploading at like 1.5mb man it was blazing

needless to say the kegger was at rodrod5s' house the next night :eek: :p :cool: :2cool: :) :nod: :sleep: :confused:

i have an old 3 com cable modem from my last service, maybe i will set it out during the next thunderstorm, with a car antenae attached to it, who wants it after ive cooked it, hmmmmm, oh just got a call from a friend, seems his cable modem was hit by lightning in philadelphia, it was cooked and would not respond at all... :rolleyes: don
