yea my 550mhz k6-2 has XP on it, with the regular Luna theme and it plays movies and mp3's fine....so something is screwed with the computer, which sucks since everything else about computer is good...no conflicts in device manager, I disabled all unneeded ports in BIOS. I don't think I turned off ...

I got this Pentium 4 HP system from work for free, and well I know why it was free cuz it's junk... :D

After spending $80 dollars each on one of the latest MIMO Super G routers and desktop NICs, it's been nothing but frustration.
It's a DLink DI-634M router, the Super G MIMO 108G....with the compatible network card, DWL-520 I think....

do you have any other hard drives to test? or sata cables? replacing the sata cables would be an easy and cheap way to rule that out at least..

Ok...so my friends computer needs a monitor. I take it to work with me, (one of my jobs is a part time PC tech at a small computer store) and test a monitor and it works great. The computer is very dirty, so I blow it out with the air compressor.

Burning DVD with Nero, goes very slow? how to improve speed?
I notice when I burn a DVD, whether data DVD or a DVD movie, Nero shows it going at 1x speed, even though I have 16x media and a 16x burner, and I select burn at 16x speed. Now I know it's not going to burn at 16x really, but it should be a lot faster then 1x.
any ideas on what to do to help speed ...
