I do alot of large file swapping between my server and my main comp and my 10/100 router is slowing me down. I dont really have the cash for a new gigabit router but i do have a extra gigabit nic in each computer. Can i just use a crossover cable and network em?

Bonus problem... I want file ...

Hey i need a way for my computer to play a sound file every 15 minutes for about 4 hours.

I waz thinking just making a sound file with a 15 min gap of silence but if there was maybe a timer program or something that would be coo.

Anyone know how i can ghost a windows 2000 server HDD from one to another? Ghost sees it but it wont let me use the 2k drive as a source. Something to do with dymanic vs something.

I used to know how to add a EULA or any kind of text pop up in windows xp whenever a user logs in. For the life of me i cant remeber tho.

Basically im asking if anyone knows the where in the reg to add so that when a user logs in it will make a text message pop up that the user has to say "ok" 2.

We use a symantec proxy server for our medium sized network to block sites. The problem we are running into as we set computers to use this new proxy is that for some wierd reason on websites that have a drop down menu, when u click the menu u get a error and windows wants to debug.

i figured out the problem, i was using port 25 on the outbound script and for somereason norton bounced it back. changed it to 24 and everything works great....wierd.

i 2 was in beta and waited a few weeks beofore buying final. Some things have gotten better, some worse but its still fun as hell.

Hey i just picked up a song cdrw from a friend and it has a media stick slot in the front. Im tryin to get it workin on a windows 98 setup with no luck. Ive dug around sonys sites tryin to find some software or drivers so i can acess the memory stick.

yes you can, it dosnt mess anything up. Just takes out any extra "features" that ntfs has.

I would do the slave thing but since what i need is in documents and settings, and that account has a pass, it protects the dir i need.

hey guys, well looks like somehow my aspi drivers got messed, i cant burn a cd using ANY program, ive done a repair install of windows, and installed aspi drivers again...still no go..

well i got it workin, i had the routers dhcp turned off so it waznt givin out any local ips. Then when i would reset it the dhcp from the other router would give me grief.

anyway i got it workin, reset it without the other connection in, reflashed it seems to work better.
