Blue * on folder

Post by Zmoney »

I was trying to share a folder on a network 2 day when i noticed it had a blue * on the picture for the folder. Windows would not let me share the folder and when i went into properties it was checked as a read only, when i changed it as soon as i closed properties it went right back to how it was.

Anyone know what this blue* is and how to resolve this?

That's because it's not a true "folder" in the sense which you're accustomed. It's a Shell Folder.

If you want a workaround, just copy the contents of the Favorites Shell folder to another ("normal") folder, or one that you create, and share that instead. Done.

Sorry I can't be of more help on this one.
