My 15 month old dell laptop stopped working a couple weeks ago. Nothing would work except the indicator light that shows it is plugged in.

Don't know the reason for the refinance but if it was to get out of debt then cut up all credit cards and CALL each creditor and tell them to close the accounts. Getting out debt trouble is more important than your current credit score.
