Texas got screwed

Post by Roody »

I am no Longhorns fan, but the system is jacked up when it lets Oklahoma play for the BIG 12 title and a shot in the National Title and ignores the team that beat them. :wth:

Not true, because if texas was chosen, what about Texas Tech, they beat Texas but if you pick Texas Tech, what about Oklahoma? Endless circle

You have to have "other" factors to make the decision (and they did)

Go Sooners!!!

Agree to disagree. Texas did nothing to lose their ranking from the last week. The fact Oklahoma went over them is just silly and this comes from a person who has no love for Texas.

I will admit that there is an irony that a team that benefitted from shady votes like Texas did a few years ago getting to the Rose to play Michigan is now victim of the same thing. Still it's a screwy situation. Still I would bet that the Big 12 changes their tie-breaker scenario this off-season to avoid future embarassment. I do think OU is a worthy choice just not ahead of Texas.

Btw, those computers which Sava has gone on about is what made this happen. Crazy stuff.

Yeah the Big 12 definitely didnt figure in a 3 way tie happening. What got Texas was A&M being a 4 win team and OU playing Oklahoma State, who was actually pretty good.

I agree here with Texas getting screwed..they beat Oklahoma by 10points..they only lost to TT by 6. The Math is simple and Texas should have been #2 and won the Big 12.

I hate the BCS...hate it with a passion! The whole thing is screwed up and should be removed and if this isn't another slap in the face for it I don't know what is.

Although I agree with you Sava that the BCS keeps doing dumb things this is more of a Big 12 issue in this instance. They decided to make it this way and it's blowing up in their faces.

Stupid stuff. Every year another dumb thing happens.

It breaks down like this.
OU lost to Texas
Texas lost to TT
TT lost to OU

Then there is the strength of schedule. As pointed out, it was bad timing that Texas played noone this last week and OU played better team.
The 3 way tie was crazy

I already pointed out the math.... Texas should be ahead of Oklahoma.
