Chrome "Downloading proxy script" delay ?

It is common on some computers/laptops for the Google Chrome web browser to experience a noticeable delay in loading web pages, and you may see a "resolving proxy", or "downloading proxy script" message in the browser.

This Chrome behavior can be changed:

1. Click the Chrome menu button (upper-right corner of the browser toolbar)
2. Navigate to: Settings > Show advanced settings
3. Scroll down to the "Network" section > click "Change proxy settings"
4. In the "Internet Properties" dialog, click "LAN settings" > untick the "Automatically detect settings" checkbox

Notes:
If your browser seems slow, it may also be prudent to check your browser for unwanted extensions, and your computer for malware. We recommend AdwCleaner, CCleaner Free, and MalwareBytes Free.
If Chrome does not load web pages on a regular basis, you may also want to check/update your Wireless network adapter drivers.
