i can view some .avi files fine in windows media player but others only have sound. i notice at the bottom of the media player, it says "requesting codec" & then it says "error - codec not downloaded". could this be why it don't play right ? ? ? if so, how would i find the codec ? ? ?

thanks man - i'll try one of those. "mp3doctor" says it can decode a mp3, then "resample" the file and encode it back with any bitrate you want up to 310. sound cool, but like i said, i can't even get it to run, so i don't know if it can actually do it or not.

can anyone recommend a program/utility for editing MP3's ? ? ?
i want to be able to normalize the volume level, adjust the bitrate and clean-up files before burning to be able to make better sounding CD's. i found one called "MP3 Doctor" but all i get is run time errrors with it.
