For Win XP Pro in either My Computer or Windows Explorer right click on the folder you wish to customize then choose properties and click on the Customize Tab.

thanks. i don't want to change the folder icon though, i want to change the way the contents of the folder look. the folder has all my mp3's in it. when i open the folder, all the files are listed in list view. it is a white background with black plain font text. i want to change the background color &/or texture and the font of the file names. does that make any sense ? ? ? i saw something one time about changing the folder to "html" or something like that. i can't remember where i saw (or heard) that. i don't know.
that might not have been it. i thought someone here may know how to do it.
