It will work but no matter what you do (notice I said you. your ISP can easily combine the bandwith but they usually don't)
it functions as two different connections. it makes sense for surfing the web but for example an ftp transfer will only use one of the cable modem's bandwith (unless of course ...

DoS - Evidence Needed?

I've been the unlucky victim of several Denial Of Service attacks in the past month. One of my "friends" often gets irate after I win, or sometimes even frag him once, in a QuakeIII game (immature, I know). He totally saturates my bandwith with TCP ECHO replies (Smurf attact) which causes me to lose ...

To the ICMP priority on that router... I'm no where near that network and I was able to ping it (sent 1000 packets).

Although I don't have the data anymore, there was no packet loss and averaged about 70ms to me (S.E. FL RR network).

2) This won't work because your NIC inside your computer isn't provisioned. The NIC inside your router is provisioned.

3) Tell them so what, ask to speak to thier boss, and tell him to schedule a guy to come to your house and check it out. Don't be nice!

Try adjusting your FTP server software.

Also, that *is* a pretty far distance.

I could see 20K/sec being recieved when you are using an overloaded cable/dsl ISP and receiving data from another cable modems/dsl user thousands of miles away.

Try modifying your RcvWindow...

Check your connection ...

Could be A LOT of things.

Does www.microsoft.com resolve to anything?

Try using this address to access M$: http://207.46.230.218

If that works there is something screwy with your hosts file or your or your ISP's DNS servers/firewalls etc.

You only need a unique port for online gaming.

Gaming from multiple computers using the same IP address is fine, unless the game server you are connecting to uses some sort of "only allow one connection per ip" as a cheat prevention technique.
