I just swapped the nics from each machine and now my XP machine can connect but 98 cannot.

The "bad" nic in my case is a DLink DFE-530TX+
Its not a bad card. Been using it for almost 8 months.

I guess I should go buy another nic and try it.

Is it as easy as swapping out hard drives or memory? What Im trying to say is does your ip change? Does your tweaks have to be set up again? Does your computer name change?
