Half Life Voice Setup

Im sure this question was posted before but I havent been around lately so here goes..... The new patch for HL or CS has a voice configuration for it and for some reason I, along with many other people, cannot use our microphone during the game. Now my mic works fine cuz Im always on Yahoo chat. Now when I join a game it says something like your mic is being used by another program or something, I dont know. Its not being used at all. Now is it just the patch that is giving ALOT of people problems? I cant believe that the problem is on our side. Help is appreciated. Thanx.

I assume you have ran the mic setup program in the HL directory?? You also need to assign a mic "button" in the commands screen. That is all. Just press and hold the button you have assigned when you talk.

I'm haveing the same problem BPP

And I keep getting the same advise that Dunster gave.

I've even tried re-installing the upgrade and still no go.

Correct me if i'm wrong but when I first installed the upgrade it asked me if I wanted to use their voice commander. I think I made a blooper by saying no without thinking about it. Does this sound right? Did it ask me during the initial install? And if so how come when I tried to re-install it didn't ask me again to set up the voice?

After selecting play CS, select Customize, then click on "Enable Voice for this MOD"

Additionally you can adjust your voice recieve and Transmit with two slider bars on the same panel.

try that and repost

I have the box checked .... "enable voice in this mod" on every half life game but its still a no go. Ive tried reinstalling it and messing around in the voice configuration setup and its still not working. Strange, very strange? Any other ideas? I'll try anything... Thanx

If your using XP I heard it has problems with it.But if not I dont know.

as far as the hl voice chat it works fine for me BUT yahoo chat works great when im not running any apps,gamespy arcade,ect.as soon asi click gs i lose my hearing on my end.in other words i cant hear sounds or pple chatting.my mic works great on roger wilco,teamsound ect.i ve emailed yahoo as usual i get a auto response that doesnt work.and tech support say hmmmmmmm!!.so having said all that,make sure your mic works in the hl voice setup,also assign a key to use it in games that support it.
