The 6218-I2 is an ADSL1/2/2+ wireless router with one RJ-11 WAN port and four 10/100Mbps LAN ports. It can be configured as either a bridge or a router. It supports IP based Quality of Service (QoS) to prioritize the traffic over the network.

The integrated access point complies with the IEEE 802.11b/g standards and can operate in two different modes, including access point and wireless bridge. It supports WMM (QoS) and AP isolation function - wireless clients can not communicate with each other when enabled.

This router features a built-in SPI firewall to protect the network against malicious attacks. It can be easily configured via Web-based configuration utility or SNMP v.2.

I am using the Zhone model # 6218-I2-200-OSV provided by my provider, Cable & Wireless in the West Indies. It does not seem to be able to travel any distance when some obstacles are in the way. For example, I need the signal to travel 20 feet across a room to a 13" stone wall containing reinforcing steel, then across 30 feet of open air to another 12" concrete wall, also containing reinforcing steel, then to the computer located a few feet within the building. I will not reach the building across the 30 feet of open air. How does one solve such a problem?
