I rent this unit from Comcast for more than a year. It is OK for a while but when I had many appliances on at the same time (washer, drier and heat furance), the internet service stopped. I usually use a paper clip to reset it but it didn't work any more. I had to call Comcast and they will reset it remotely. It is pain on neck when you need the service. I removed the backup battery and reset it by turn off the power. It is working fine now.

The link for manual is not for this modem. It is for a wireless modem. The DVM 3230B is not wireless. For wireless networking, you need to add an external wireless router.
