TP-Link TD-W8968

details: 300Mbps Wireless N USB ADSL2+ Router
hardware type: DSL Wireless Router
date added: 2012-04-09
updated: 2013-04-24
TP-LINK's TD-W8968 300Mbps Wireless N USB ADSL2+ router is an all-in-one device allowing users to access high-speed internet connection via ADSL or Ethernet WAN (EWAN) using its interchangeable LAN/WAN port and share it wirelessly at 300Mbps wireless 802.11n speeds.

With its multi-function USB port, users can share printers, files and play media across the local network or access files from attached USB storage across the internet using the TD-W8968's FTP server function.

IP QoS allows network administrators to allot a specific amount of available bandwidth to each network connected device simply by identifying it by its IP address, ensuring that those devices with critical tasks always have enough bandwidth and preventing any one device from hoarding bandwidth from the rest of the users on the network.

The TPLink TD-W8968 gave an immediate 30% increase in speed due to its ability to cope with a very long and noisy line from my local exchange - easy-ish to set up and a great improvement on my SpeedStream 4200 & LinkSys WRT54G combination. The old router was fine but the old SpeedStream modem was past its use-by date by 10 years or so. I am very impressed by ability of the TPLink to cope with lousy S/N ratio
