Netgear WNHDE111

details: 5 GHz Wireless-N HD Access Point/Bridge
hardware type: Wireless Access Point
date added: 2010-01-31
updated: 2015-09-20
The WNHDE111 is a 5GHz 802.11a/n (draft 2.0) wireless access point with two 10/100Base-T LAN ports. It can operate in Access Point and Wireless Bridge modes.

This AP supports wireless "ad-hoc" mode for wireless LAN peer-to-peer gaming and also multicast point-to-multi-point HD video streaming. It is suitable for connecting game consoles, digital video recorders (DVR), digital media adapters (DMA), networked storage, notebooks with dual-band Wireless-N adapters, and Wireless-N notebooks.

The AP can act as a DHCP server. It supports WEP and WPA/WPA2 wireless encrtyption and uses WMM (QoS) to prioritize the traffic over the network. A WPS button allows for worry-free wireless security configuration.

The WNHDE111 can be easily configured via Web-based configuration utility. The default IP addresses in different operation modes are as follows:

Wireless AP mode, browse to 192.168.0.240.
Wireless Bridge mode, browse to 192.168.0.241.

Note this unit ONLY operates in the 5 GHz band, and therefore is not backward compatible with 802.11b/g devices.

This is not dual-band. Its 5Ghz only.

While it may not be "simultaneous" dual-band, the fact that it supports 802.11b/g itself suggests that it must be able to operate in the 2.5GHz band as well.

I bought this to use with B and G because this review said it supported it.. Now I wasted money buying this product when the product manual clearly states, "NOT COMPATIBLE WITH B/G BANDS."

-Thanks
