The CGE24N Wireless Cable Gateway combines a cable modem, an integrated 4-port router, and 802.11n wireless access point. The gateway is EuroDOCSIS 2.0/ DOCSIS 2.0 compliant.
The integrated access point complies with 802.11n (draft 2.0) standard and supports WEP and WPA/WPA2 wireless encryption. It uses WMM (QoS) to prioritize the traffic over the network. It also uses Wi-Fi Multimedia Power Save (WMM-PS, a.k.a., Unscheduled Automatic Power Save Delivery (u-APSD)) to save up to 40% of the battery life of WMM-PS devices connected to the AP. A WPS button allows for worry-free wireless security configuration.
The router provides VPN pass-through for IPSec and PPTP. A built-in SPI firewall protects the network against intruders and Denial of Service (DoS) attacks.
