details: Mudi 4G LTE Privacy Router
hardware type: Mobile Hotspot (4G+ LTE MiFi)
date added: 2020-07-19
Mudi by GL.iNet, is a portable 4G LTE privacy router for road warriors and business travelers who want to secure their data and protect them from cyber criminals.

With WireGuard encryption and multiple open source VPN protocols support, it can save your data from the risks of hackers, viruses, and data leaks when you are using public Internet.

You can even configure your router to act as a VPN server and you can access the server whenever you want.

Mudi is based on OpenWrt open-source platform which brings routing function and wireless access point together and can be flexibly expanded. It supports up to 128GB MicroSD card storage for your large files during travel. It supports 4G LTE network if you cannot find a reliable Wi-Fi hotspot.

In order to save power when Mudi is idle, you can switch to Standby mode by pressing the power button and hold for 3 seconds. And press the power button and hold 3 seconds again to wake Mudi up and back to function.

Mudi has installed Tor (The Onion Router) service, and it is easy to switch on or off by a simple button press. After you activate Tor service, Mudi can encrypt and bounce communications randomly through a network of relays that run by volunteers around the globe. Therefore, Mudi with Tor can conceal your identity and browsing data from surveillance and traffic analysis by separating identification and routing.

DNS over TLS is a security protocol for encrypting and wrapping Domain Name System (DNS) queries and answers via the Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol. The goal of the method is to increase user privacy and security by preventing eavesdropping and manipulation of DNS data via man-in-the-middle attacks. Mudi uses Cloudflare to obtain a fast, secure, and authoritative DNS performance, and those DNS can prevent DNS hijacking and domain theft.
