Each eero router has two radios — both of which communicate with your devices and sync with other eeros. With TrueMesh, eero supports multiple hops, making it possible to cover a home of any shape or size. TrueMesh is the core software and mesh routing algorithm that powers eero networks. It's the next generation of wireless mesh technology, custom-built from the ground up to work with eero. ТrueMesh understands your network’s full topology – how all of your eeros are connected to each other and to all of the connected devices in your home – in real time. It always finds the best router for data and quickly switches paths to avoid any interference. Eero's max rated transmit speeds are about 240Mbps at 2.4 GHz and about 600Mpbs at 5 GHz. Over a wired connection, the max throughput locally is 1Gbps. 2x2 MIMO technology is also supported. Eero supports Ethernet dedicated backhaul, however, it does not have a dedicated wireless backhaul radio as 3x3 WiFi systems (Linksys Velop, Netgear Orbi). Eero can be set in bridge mode, however. This means you can continue managing your network through your existing router, something not available with most other mesh offerings.
