The SURFboard SBV2402 is a DOCSIS 3.0 cable modem with Voice over IP (VoIP) for use with Xfinity Internet & Voice service. The SBV2402 is equipped with 1 Gigabit Ethernet port and 2 telephone ports. It is approved for internet speed plans up to 400 Mbps. (This modem is not compatible with gigabit speed internet plans).
Channel Bonding is like lanes on a highway. The more channels you have, the faster and more efficiently your network will perform. The SBV2402 has 24 downstream and 4 upstream channels to efficiently manage network traffic.
With just a few simple connections and a visit to your ISPs online self-activation portal, you will be up and running.
Using multi-processor technology, the SBV2402 can achieve high bandwidth performance without affecting voice quality. The SBV2402 does not include Wi-Fi. It easily connects to your existing Wi-Fi router.
