YouTube Go app launches in more than 130 countries

2018-02-01 16:53 by

Google rolled out its YouTube Go app in more than 130 countries today. The app was previously available in a handful of markets where connectivity is poor or cellular data is very expensive.

YouTube Go offers the key features of YouTube along with a lot of data management options. Users can download videos at three different quality sizes and share them with other phones without using any data at all. It also features previews, so you can check out a video before streaming or downloading it. The app itself is less than 10MB, and Google specifically made it work with slower phones with less storage, and it works on much older versions of Android - all the way back to 4.1 Jellybean, in fact.

The company has also made it easier for users to get more personalized content. They can get new personalized content now with a simple pull of the home screen. Users had requested that the app allow them to share multiple videos at once and that's possible starting today.
