Following companies such as Facebook, Microsoft and Apple, Yahoo has released a statement, disclosing the number of requests for user data from government agencies the company has received. The Internet company said that from Dec. 1, 2012, to May 31, 2013, it received between 12,000 and 13,000 requests from the government, related to everything from local crimes to terrorism investigations under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act. Facebook and Microsoft's disclosures covered a different period: the second half of 2012. Facebook said it received between 9,000 and 10,000 requests in that six-month period, while Microsoft said it received between 6,000 and 7,000. Read more -here-
