Yahoo is reportedly testing a feature that prevents users who use ad-blockers from accessing their e-mails.

Only a group of users in the U.S are affected by the tests. Those of them who use AdBlock Plus have complained that they can't access Yahoo Mail in Chrome or Firefox on the desktop. Instead of seeing their inboxes, they have been greeted by an error message:

"Uh oh… We are unable to display Yahoo Mail. Please disable Ad Blocker to continue using Yahoo Mail."

In turn, Yahoo explained the situation:

"At Yahoo, we are continually developing and testing new product experiences. This is a test we're running for a small number of Yahoo Mail users in the U.S."

Yahoo is not alone in this initiative. Recently it has become popular among news websites to take the same action as a way to fight back against people who employ ad-blockers, because this way they're not able to sell advertising to those readers.
