Verizon is reportedly considering merger with Charter - the United States' second largest cable company.
Charter sells cable TV and broadband subscriptions in local markets across the United States. Through a recent merger with Time Warner Cable, Charter now operates in big cities like New York City and Los Angeles.
Merging the two companies would create a real media behemoth: It would bring together Verizon's more than 114 million wireless subscribers with Charter's cable network, which provides television to 17 million customers and broadband connections to 21 million.
It's still unclear if Charter's executives would be open to a transaction and there is no guarantee a deal would be struck.
