Internet of Things have become very popular recently and many companies are developing such devices. However, the good idea behind IoT, could be transformed to a cyber security threat. These days, the US intelligence chief James Clapper has announced that connected household items could be used by intelligence agencies to spy on their owners. "In the future, intelligence services might use the [internet of things] for identification, surveillance, monitoring, location tracking, and targeting for recruitment, or to gain access to networks or user credentials," Clapper told a Senate panel as part of his annual "assessment of threats" against the US. Clapper mentioned several countries - among which Russia, China, and Iran but did not exactly specify any intelligence agency to be involved in household-device surveillance. In its report to the Senate Clapper said that cybersecurity remains America's greatest threat. Read more -here-
