TP-Link expands Wi-Fi 6 family with new tri-band routers and a range extender

Following the announcement of its Wi-Fi 6 Deco Mesh family, TP-Link is now unveiling the latest members of its Archer routers, both of which boast up to 6600 Mbps speeds and a new AX1500 range extender (RE505X).

The new Archer AX90 Wi-Fi 6 Router delivers AX6600 tri-band Wi-Fi at speeds up to 6600Mbps (1201 Mbps @5 GHz_1 + 4804 Mbps @5 GHz_2 + 574 Mbps @2.4 GHz). The router's 1.5GHz quad-core processor ensures fast transmission speeds and ensures that all devices and applications run smoothly. Featuring a 2.5 Gbps WAN/LAN port, a 1 Gbps WAN/LAN port, three Gigabit LAN ports and both a USB 3.0 and a USB 2.0 port, it offers ultra-fast and flexible connections from the router to your home devices. Additionally, its eight high-gain antennas equipped with Beamforming ensure vast coverage. Wi-Fi 6 OFDMA and MU-MIMO technology delivers data to multiple devices simultaneously with less lag and WPA3 reinforces Wi-Fi encryption for improved security. The router also offers premium anti-virus and IoT security through TP-Link HomeCare Pro, available with a monthly or annual subscription.

The Archer GX90, known as the brother of AX90, is designed for serious gamers. A game-centric design and UI defines its style and has been developed for the needs of gamers. A dedicated gaming band speeds up to 4804 Mbps to ensure the best gaming streaming experience. Game Accelerator prioritizes gaming streams so your gaming stays immersive and Game Statistics show you connection statistics so you can easily stay on top of real-time latency, game duration and system performance with just a glance. Premium anti-virus and IOT security is also available on this model through TP-Link HomeCare Pro, available with a monthly or annual subscription.

Finally, the TP-Link RE505X is a Wi-Fi 6 AX1500 dual band range extender that can bring Wi-Fi coverage to your existing dead zones. It also supports access point mode letting you create a new Wi-Fi network, adding to your wired network. It also features TP-Link OneMesh so you can create a Wi-Fi 6 mesh network throughout your home when you pair it with compatible TP-Link Wi-Fi 6 Routers. Additionally, the TP-Link Tether app enables easy set-up and keeps you in control even when you aren't home.

The Archer AX90 has an MSRP of $299.99 and is expected to be available in April 2020. The Archer GX90 has an MSRP of $329.99 and is expected to be available in late Q2 2020. The RE505X has an MSRP of $69.99 and is expected to be available in March 2020.
