TP-Link announces new pocket routers at CES 2013

TP-Link, a global provider of networking products, today announced its new TP-Link "Halo" 150Mbps Wireless N Mini Pocket Router, the TL-WR706N; the 300Mbps Wireless N Mini Pocket Router, the TL-WR810N and the range extender TL-WA850RE.

TL-WR706N has the wireless speed and range to power a complex set of networking applications to create a highly efficient mobile office or entertainment network in no time at 150Mbps. Better still, it is small enough to fit in the average pocket and with no cables to plug in. The mini pocket router is uniquely suited for providing robust wireless networking to travelers.

Uniquely suited to travelers, the TL-WR810N provides robust, 300Mbps wireless networking with limited setup required and no external power adapter to take up space in hand bags and suitcases.

For eliminating dead zones, TP-Link offered the TL-WA850RE, a power socket-mounted Wireless N range extender.

The TL-WR706N supports Access Point, Wireless Router, Client, WISP Router and Repeater modes. It features one 10/100Mbps WAN/LAN port. A hardware-based mode switch is provided to swap between Router and AP functions. TL-WR706N comes with preconfigured wireless security settings, including WEP and WPA/WPA2 wireless encryption.

The TL-WR810N supports wireless speeds of up to 300Mbps. It supports Access Point, Wireless Router, Client, WISP Router Repeater modes. Two RJ-45 ports allow for wired connection in wireless router mode. Pre-encryption prevents unauthorized access from users outside of the network.

The TL-WR810N features a USB port allowing users to charge their devices on the go, such as smartphones or tablets, or use it to share files or media on a connected USB flash or hard disk with network connected users within the local network, acting as a miniature server ideal for entertainment and collaboration.

TL-WA850RE is designed to conveniently extend the coverage and improve the signal strength of an existing wireless network to eliminate "dead zones".

Using IEEE 802.11n wireless technology, this device can transmit wireless data at the rate of up to 300Mbps. With multiple protection measures, including wireless LAN 64/128/152-bit WEP encryption, Wi-Fi protected Access (WPA2-PSK, WPA-PSK), the TL-WA850RE 300Mbps Universal Wireless N Range Extender delivers complete data privacy.
