It seems that Raspberry Pi 3 is on its way. According to the documents submitted by Raspberry to FCC, the new version of the mini computer will be the first to support Bluetooth LE (Low Energy) and WiFi. It is expected to support 2.4 GHz networks, not 5 GHz.

The Bluetooth LE or Low Energy, also known as Bluetooth Smart is aimed at healthcare apps, fitness, home and entertainment and security industries. Some smart watches use this technology for tracking movement and sleep too.

These two features will be quite useful for Raspberry Pi fans as they've been waiting for them for a pretty long time. For previous models, owners had to opt for alternatives such as wired Ethernet, USB Wi-Fi adapters, or Ethernet-to-wireless gadgets.

No other specifications for the board have been revealed by Raspberry yet.
