Chipmaker Intel announced Wednesday that it has joined Qualcomm and Samsung by signing up for the Alliance for Wireless Power's technology, which uses near-field magnetic resonance to top up batteries in phones, tablets, or laptops.
Intel hopes to develop Wireless Charging Technology (WCT), which would allow users to wirelessly charge smartphones and tablets simply by placing devices close to a laptop. The A4WP group says that it can charge multiple devices at once, without requiring them to be specifically placed or aligned. The charging distance can be up to 45 mm or higher. Read more -here-
