![]() Google Assistant can now send or request money2018-03-22 15:04 by DanielaTags: Google Assistant
Starting today, Google Assistant will get Google Pay integration, which will let you use Google's voice assistant to send and receive money from your contacts. The new functionality is aimed at further reducing the headache involved in settling IOUs in an increasingly cashless environment, not to mention encouraging more Google Pay users. Like the Google Express shopping service, you'll need to have Google Pay installed and set up, but once you go through the process—either through the app or by following Assistant's guided setup—you'll be able to send any amount of money just by saying, "OK Google, send Brad $100 for dinner." At the moment the new feature only works through the Assistant on Android and the iOS app, but support for "voice-activated speakers like Google Home" will arrive in the coming months. As far as security is concerned, Google Assistant won't send funds with only your voice. You'll need to confirm your decision to send money with your device password or fingerprint. It's unclear how this will work with voice-activated speakers like Google Home, though it's possible you'll need a second device, like your smartphone, to authorize it. Read more -here-
