![]() Facebook to offer own video content2016-12-15 03:02 by DanielaTags: Facebook
According to recent reports, Facebook is negotiating with television studios and other video providers to license content including scripted shows, game shows and sports. This is the first time the company considers paying for their own content since they incentivised some media organisations to help get the Facebook Live platform off the ground. The initiative is being led by Ricky Van Veen, Facebook's head of global creative strategy. "Earlier this year, we started rolling out the Video tab, a dedicated place for video on Facebook," Van Veen said in a statement. "Our goal is to kickstart an ecosystem of partner content for the tab, so we're exploring funding some seed video content, including original and licensed scripted, unscripted, and sports content, that takes advantage of mobile and the social interaction unique to Facebook. Our goal is to show people what is possible on the platform and learn as we continue to work with video partners around the world.” Read more -here-
