Amazon has announced today that it has reached an agreement with Comcast that will see Amazon's Prime Video service launching on the Xfinity X1 receiver for the first time. Prime Video content will be integrated on Comcast's X1 platform in the U.S., and available within X1's search feature and remote control functions. X1 subscribers will also be able to access titles for rental or purchase and add on a selection of over 160 Prime Video Channels, including Showtime and STARZ. "Amazon Prime Video's growing list of originals, movies, shows, documentaries, and kids' programming will be an excellent complement to the overall X1 viewing experience," said Dana Strong, President of Consumer Services, Comcast. "We want to give customers easy access to all their favorite content in one place. X1 continues to be a platform that can curate live TV, On Demand movies and shows, and streaming internet video and music titles into one, easy-to-use, seamless experience." Comcast and Amazon didn't say exactly when Prime Video will launch on X1, only that it's expected later this year. Read more -here-
