Months after announcing its privacy-focused DNS service, Cloudflare is bringing it to mobile users. The company has released 1.1.1.1 apps for Android and iOS that switch the DNS service on and off with a single button press.

The mobile app uses features like VPN support to push your mobile traffic towards the 1.1.1.1 DNS servers and improve speeds. It will also prevent your carrier from tracking your browsing history and potentially selling it. Cloudflare is promising not to track 1.1.1.1 users or sell ads, and the company has retained KPMG to perform an annual audit and publish a public report.

Cloudflare launched its 1.1.1.1 service in April as a bid to improve privacy and performance for desktop users, and now it's making that technology available to mobile users.

"We launched 1.1.1.1 to offer consumers everywhere a better choice for fast and private Internet browsing," said Matthew Prince, Cloudflare chief executive said. "The 1.1.1.1 app makes it even easier for users to unlock fast and encrypted DNS on their phones."
