China's cyber censors have a theme song

China's Internet Administration agency now has it's own choral anthem, a song titled "The Mind and Spirit of Cyberspace Security." The song was performed by the Cyberspace Administration of China choral group at a Beijing Internet Association event this week. It was written specially for the event.

A video from the event has been published on the Cyberspace Administration’s website. Soon after viewers had started posting it online in China, the authorities have pulled the video.

"Keeping faithful watch under this sky, the Sun and the Moon," the choir sings. "Creating, embracing everyday clarity and brightness; Like a beam of incorruptible sunlight, touching our hearts."

The Cyberspace Administration is the agency that regulates and censors the Internet inside China. The country has the most sophisticated online censorship system in the world called The Great Firewall. Last year, the U.S.-based group Freedom House rated China's Internet "not free," following Iran and Syria in total points.
