Amped Wireless is debuting its next-generation REC22P Wi-Fi Range Extender at the 2016 Consumer Electronics Show. For the first time, boosting the reach of a Wi-Fi network does not mean giving up access to a wall outlet. The REC22P delivers AC1200 Wi-Fi speeds, in an unobtrusive, wall plug design delivering fast HD streaming and lag-free gaming with unique features.

In the past, increasing the scope of a Wi-Fi network meant finding an outlet between the router and the dead spot to plug in a range extender. While the REC22P still needs to be plugged into an outlet, it no longer blocks access to power. A pass-thru power outlet in the base of the device allows users to plug in a lamp, or other electronic appliance that would have otherwise needed to be relocated.

Additionally, the REC22P provides the added bonus of rapid USB device charging. On the front face of the REC22P is a USB port that can be used to plug in and charge smart phones, tablets and other devices. By charging portable electronics through the REC22P instead of plugging them into a laptop USB port, devices can be charged to a full battery at faster speeds.

Designed to provide maximum coverage for heavy internet users, the High Power Wi-Fi Extender is packed with eight amplifiers and two high gain antennas that push the Wi-Fi signal through thick walls, ceilings and doors to eliminate dead spots. BoostBand Technology also helps to increase overall speed by streamlining Wi-Fi traffic through the fastest frequency.

A built-in Signal Strength LED on the Extender makes an already simple setup even easier, as it helps the user to find the best possible installation location. The REC22P can extend the range of any standard Wi-Fi Router by up to a mind-boggling 11,000 square feet.

The REC22P is priced at $119.99 and will be available for order in late-February on ampedwireless.com.
