I'm glad I'm not the only one
I also live in Grants Pass, and have the exact same problem. I also run into the horrible slow down around 10pm to midnight... wish I had an answer for the problem, though.

Debian Linux woes
I just downloaded Debian (sarge) and I'm having a heck of a time getting my vid card and onboard NICs installed.
I've tried using forcedeth to run the NIC, but I'm a total n00b at Linux. I'm at a loss about how to proceed, so if you have any help, I'm all ears, but I'll need some really basic ...

Apparently, if you have EZCD Creator 5 or later on your computer and you uninstall it, it will leave some remnants in the registry that will not allow windows to load the drivers for the drives...

Win2k not loading drivers for DVD and CDRW
Here's the problem. I fire up my computer the other day and go into my computer and there are no E and F drives! (DVD and CDRW, respectively). So, I checked in hardware manager and it gives me this error message:
Windows was unable to load the drivers for this device. Error Code 31
I went ahead ...

Windows 2000 freezes when I try to defrag
I've tried diskeeper, windows defrag, norton speed disk, and nothing seems to work! It anyalyzes just fine, but about 10 seconds into actually moving data, my computer freezes up. Here's what's running in the background:

SMSS.EXE
WINLOGON.EXE
CSRSS.EXE
SERVICES.EXE

My sister in law is interested in Graphic Design and I was wondering if anyone knew of some good software for this. She's mainly interested in creating art and icon type things for webpages. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Is $70 a good price for Micron PC133 SDRAM? at the moment I'm running 256MB PC100 (who knows what brand) on a P6STM mobo... If you know of a better deal, please enlighten me. Thanks in advance!
