Microsoft® Windows® XP Professional with Service Pack 2
I mean outside of the bells and whistles the Media Center Edition has, I can't think of anything else.
What's the substanial difference between the two?

I've got MCE on my laptop... As far as I can see, the only difference is the Media Center app (it will sit in your sys tray). If you're going to be watching or recording video (HDTV and the like), it's pretty nice... But, I hear that MythTV is pretty similar...
